2020 Dating Trends

After “catfishing” and “ghosting” are you up to date with the dating trends of 2020?

Online dating and 2020 dating trends can make you a little lost and delirious especially when there are dating apps that can’t verify the authenticity of a profile you’re talking to. Many singles using dating apps (that’s not LunchClick) have fallen victim to these “dating trends”...can you relate?

"Kanye'd"

Our first dating trends of 2020 is pretty much self-explanatory.

A date that talks about themself RELENTLESSLY the entire time. Even when you try to share things about yourself they somehow manage to manoeuvre the spotlight back to them and their stories...just liikkeeee….

"Eclipsing"

“Eclipsing” is something we have all done at some point of our lives. However it has come to light with our dating trends of 2020. “Eclipsing” is when you take over the characteristics and style of the person you’re dating and turn into a mini-them. They wear sporty attire, you start to wear sporty attire, they dress up like a hipster, you start doing the same, they’re into online gaming, you start playing it religiously too. Get the picture? Eclipsing!

"Dial-toning"

We’ve all heard of “Ghosting”, well this is something like that but...worse. Getting dial-toned is when you manage to exchange numbers with that person but that’s the last of it. They don’t respond to you text, calls or even meme-tags! Ouch!

"Glamboozled"

You’re all excited for your date and you go all out looking like a 10 for it theeeen it gets cancelled at the LAST MINUTE for a vague reason.Unlike the way you look, it’s not a very nice to be Glamboozled..

"Cause-playing"

This happens when a casual relationship sort of ends out of the blue, but the other person only pops back into your life to ask for favors. “Heey! It’s been awhile since we talked huh? Btw, can you help me like, share and subscribe my videos on YouTube?”....umm, no thanks!

Ross-ing

If you’re familiar with the show “Friends” then you know exactly what Ross-ing is. It’s when someone starts talking (or more than that) to someone else just because you haven’t defined your relationship. You may have only just started dating and not yet had 'the talk' or you could have been taking a brief break in your relationship and somehow this translates to their innocence to whatever they decide to do with someone else.

We know how that worked out for Ross. Yikes!

Trend or not when it comes to finding love, there can be many signals lost in translation. Which is why it’s always good to have a little help.
